Travis Hafner’s average drops to .138 Not too good!
DH – Travis Hafner
Hafner appears to be in need of more at-bats than he’s been getting. He is 4-for-29 with one homer and 12 strikeouts this spring. Hafner’s contract is guaranteed, so he’s still assured of being the Yankees’ DH against right-handed pitchers.

Rapada’s status for Opening Day in question External Link This is the best the Yankees can do for a lefty reliever. He did do okay last season. I guess I should lay-off him.
RP – Clay Rapada
While the left-hander doesn’t need many spring innings to get himself ready for Opening Day, his status remains in question. Rapada registered a stellar 2.82 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 38/17 K/BB ratio over 70 appearances with the Yankees in 2012. He’s nothing more than a left-handed specialist, though, and holds no value in most fantasy leagues.

Hughes may pitch in minors game Saturday External Link Okay!
SP – Phil Hughes
Hughes remains optimistic that he’ll be ready to go when the regular season begins, but a more realistic timetable may have him missing his first scheduled start. Yankees manager Joe Girardi confirmed Tuesday that if Hughes isn’t ready to take his first turn, both Ivan Nova and David Phelps could open the year in the rotation.

Boone Logan feels good after spring debut External Link Okay!
RP – Boone Logan
Despite it being his first outing of the spring, Logan said he felt like he was in midseason form. The veteran southpaw appeared in a league-high 80 games with the Yankees in 2012, and will again operate as their primary left-handed specialist. He’ll be fine for Opening Day.

Derek Jeter (ankle) could start season on DL External Link Do not want to hear this.
SS – Derek Jeter
Jeter was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to mild inflammation in his surgically-repaired left ankle and received an anti-inflammatory injection on Wednesday. It’s not a major setback, but the Yankees want him to play a full nine innings and back-to-back games before Opening Day. He could still pull that off, but it all depends on how the ankle responds in the coming days.
