GOODNIGHT AND FAREWELL BETH..EMILY KINNEY..THE WALKING DEAD

imagesuntitled  RIP BETH…..

Most of we Walking Dead fans figured it was either Carol or Beth.  One thought crossed my mind as the Fire Engine arrived, with the rest of our heroes.  Could it be one of them?  Do they get to the hospital to try to help Rick, Daryl and the others.  It could have been Glen.  If you read the Walking Dead comic, you know why I said that.  In this episode, the swap went down.  It ended up being a swap of Beth for Dawn, even though we did not want it that way.  Just my opinion, but I would have been more upset if Carol or Mashonne bought it!  The episode on the whole was good!  But it was so hyped, particularly the leaks of Norm Reedus breaking up and the last few minutes.  It could unfortunately, not stand up to the hype.  See you on February 8th, when the WALKING DEAD RETURNS!    edb

A’s FANS OUTRAGED OVER DONALDSON TRADE BY BRILLIANT BEANE

untitled

Oakland A’s fans are disgusted and pissed  regarding the team’s   best player — the big bat  in their lineup and on their infield — and arguably their most popular player, traded with next to no warning in a deal that signaled to many , specifically  Josh Reddick of the team’s plan to rebuild.

It is once again ridiculous thinking on Billy Beane’s part, just because the A’s decomposed at the end of last season.  Beane is popular because of Money Ball.  Let’s face it, he is another clueless GM.  The A’s under Beane’s leadership, have never won anything.  Perhaps, because of his lack of leadership.

A’s fand are not too thrilled with the signing of Billy Butler.  A’s fans are confused about the singing of Butler and the trade of Donaldson.  Now the A’s roster is filled with first baseman/DH types.

Time will tell how Beane’s plan plays out and ultimately works out, but for now A’s fans are annoyed, disillusioned and not at all shy about sharing those feelings.

It usually does not work out.  Just because a movie was made about you, does not show that you know what you are doing.

PLEASE EDB, TELL US HOW THOSE NY TEAMS ARE DOING!!!

ROBERTSON HAS BEEN OFFERED 39M

untitleduntitled

David Robertson might be a former Yankee.  Robertson, top free agent closer on the market,  is he’s likely to get a four-year deal despite having a draft pick attached to him by virtue of him declining the qualifying offer from the Yankees.

Some executives in Baseball  questioned whether Robertson was taking an unnecessary risk when he turned down the Yankees’ $15.3 million offer, which would have given the highest salary ever for a relief pitcher without ever even testing the market.  One rival executive said he’s heard Robertson already has an offer of about $39 million for three years in hand, and that it seems likely with all the outside interest that Robertson will get a four-year offer.

The Yankees, appear to be more  focused on finding a shortstop to replace the retiring Derek Jeter,  clearly hoped to keep Robertson, about whom GM Brian Cashman raved as the GM meetings, saying he has “all the boxes checked.” But word is  that the Yankees weren’t expecting to go to four years.

The Houston Astros  are thought to be one interested teams.  There seems  to be other teams in the mix, as well, which could put pressure on the Yankees, who have seen the rival Boston and Toronto each make two significant acquisitions this winter.

A MATT KEMP TRADE HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BETWEEN O’S AND DODGERS

untitled

The Orioles and Dodgers have discussed a deal between the two teams for Matt Kemp.  This can be a way of pressuring both Nick Markakis and Nelson Cruz to resign or as an alternative for both outfielders.

Kemp had a strong second half of 2014 for  the Dodgers.   Kemp batted .287 with 25 Hrs and 89 RBI’s for the Dodgers, last season.  This showed that Kemp, still has the magic.  leaning toward keeping him. They Dodgers  lost Hanley Ramirez, who signed with The Red Sox, so Kemp’s right-handed power is something they’ll probably want to carry into 2015.

It’s going to take a lot  to get Kemp, even though he’s owed big money. Kemp, 30, is due to make $21.5 million per season through the 2019 campaign.

MARK NEWMAN (YANKEES) MAKES THE TOP TEN….

untitled  MARK NEWMAN

Mark Newman, once again made The Daily News Bill Madden’s Top Ten Turkey Awards!  Congratulations Mark.

On his way to retirment, the  Yankees  former Vice President  of scouting and player development has made a  return appearance on our Top 10 Turkey List for the same reasons he made it in 2013.   In Newman in 16 years,  failed to draft and develop a single All-Star caliber position player or frontline starting pitcher (the Yanks haven’t accomplished either since Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte). In 2014 Newman had one more parting accomplishment  of turkey: For the first time in anyone’s memory, not a single Yankee farm team made the playoffs.

And who has been in charge of the Yankees operation for the last 16 years?

AW SHUCKS…CAPUANO COULD BE HEADED TO JAPAN

untitled

The Yankees WERE HAPPY WITH Chris Capuano’s  PERFORMANCE FOR THEM LAST SEASON.  . It seems that they may have competition   from Japan if they want  with the free agent lefty in 2015.

The 36-year-old has mentioned that  he’s interested in perhaps pitching in Japan next season, telling MLB Network Radio most recently, “There’s a lot of truth to it. We’re considering it.”

Capuano, who pitched for the Mets in 2011 and was an 18-game winner for Milwaukee in 2005, was 2-3 for the Yankees last season with a 4.25 ERA in 12 starts as a replacement in their decimated rotation. He made 28 relief appearances for the Red Sox earlier in the year, too.

Capuano was on the  team that toured Japan after the 2014 season and gushed about Japan in an interview with Kyodo News.

YANKS IN ON SCHERZER SWEEPS

untitled

SHUSH!   The Yankees have been so quiet, while other teams in the East, have been on the move. The Red Sox and now the Jays have made positive moves.   Max Scherzer, the 2013 Cy  Young winner, might be headed to the Bronx.   It seems the Yankees are interested in adding Scherzer to their rotation.  The Yankees have made a six year offer to Scherzer.  Numbers are not available.  Scherzer has averaged 3.24 E.R.A. the past 3 years, while averaging 10.5 k’s per 9 innings and only 2.6 walks.  Let’s see what happens.

A’s BREAKUP OF TEAM CONTINUES…LOOK TO TRADE SAMARDZIA

The Oakland A’s are close to “a fairly significant deal” involving starter   Jeff Samardzia, who they acquired last season.  The  Athletics would be getting back several pieces in return and Brillian Beane   is targeting hitters.

The Athletics acquired Samardzija and Jason Hammel  in a trade with the Cubs in early July, sending prospect Addison Russell and Dan Strailey  and Billy McKinney to the Cubs. Samardzija posted a 3.14 ERA with a 99/12 K/BB ratio over 111 2/3 innings with the A’s in 2014.   Samardzia  is presently eligible  eligible for arbitration for the third and final time, and is projected to earn $9.5 million.
