BLUE JAYS AND A’S IN MAJOR SWAP

untitled

The Oakland A’s have shipped  All-Star third basemanJosh Donaldson  to Toronto  in  for Brett Lawrie along with minor league pitchers Kendall Graveman and Sean Nolan shortstop Franklin Barreto.  Donaldson has hit .255 with 29 home runs and 98 RBI’s last season.  Donaldson is 28 years old.    He’s also a strong defender at the hot corner, winning a Fielding Bible award in 2014.  Very suprising deal for the A’s since Donaldson has been believed to be the A’s best player.  Billy Beane wanted to rework the A’s poor finish  down the stretch in 2014, and when Beane gets it in his head,  no player is seemingly off limits.  Beane is another one of these guys who is called a genius, like Cashman.  But, is he really.  Donaldson will join a potent offense in Toronto.
