The Yankees have traded Manny Banuelos, one of their self-proclaimed “Killer B’s” to The Braves for David Carpenter and Chase Shreve. Banuelos, 23, missed all of the 2013 season after Tommy John surgery. Banuelos has not made it back as far as success is concerned, since the surgery. Banuelos compiled a 4.11 ERA with just 71 K’s and 33 BB’s in 76 2/3 innings at Single A Tampa, Double A Trenton and Triple A Scranton.
Danid Carpenter, 29, has been a reliever for the Braves for the past two seasons, posting a 2.63 ERA with 141 K’s and 36 BB’s in 126 2/3 seasons. Chase Shreve, 24,
made in his major league debut in Atlanta in July, 2014. He returned in September, finishing with an 0.73 ERA, 15 k’s and 3 BB’s in 12 1/3 innings. In the minors, Shreve had a 2.67 ERA and 87 K’s in 64 innings and 12 BB’s. He pitched most in Double A.
