Let’s go back to Yesteryear, when Elvis visited then president, Trickey Dickey Nixon. Elvis presented The President with a mounted colt .45 and an Elvis outfit. The Meeting spawned a low-budget and awful film. Elvis had the goal, at the time, to “take-down” The Beatles. Elvis believed that The Beatles were largely responsible for The Hippie movement and the Anti-American spirit, at the time. Elvis mentioned this to Nixon, who nodded in approval, but thought it strange. Elvis believed that The Beatles got rich in America and the returned to Britain to push The Anti-American movement. Elvis also blam,ed The Smothers Brothers and Jane Fonda for the Anti-American sentiment. The Elvis tirade moved forward when Elvis took a tour of The FBI and passed on his sentiments to FBI head J. Edgar Hoover.
Elvis met The Beatles, when they visited his Beverly Hills home on August 27, 1965. However the meeting went, The relationship between the musical icons, remained chilly at best.
