Arthur Rhodes had not pitched in professional Baseball since 2011. He did pitch for an impressive 20 years in The Majors. Arthur Rhodes made it official on Friday, he has officially retired from Baseball. Rhodes in his career pitched for The Orioles, The Mariners (two times,) A’s, Indians, Phillies, Marlins, Reds, Rangers, and Cardinals.
Rhodes final MLB stats: were 87-70 with a 4.08 ERA over exactly 900 appearances (61 starts and 839 relief appearances) and 1,187.2 innings. Rhodes posted 25 scoreless relief appearances out of 29 in the postseason. That includes a perfect 8-for-8 scoreless in his final season for the World Series champion Cardinals.
If I remember correctly, few of those appearances were positive against The Yankees. The Yankees feasted on Rhodes and were always ready when he faced them. The Yankees should have a party for Arthur. A fine career for a fine pitcher.
