Stiffing out over three seasons for The Yankees, Mark Texiera made some drastic changes to his diet and hopes (that is the magic word,) to stay healthy.
Texiera is now on a sugar free, gluten free diet, he hopes will keep him on the field. Thus far, Texiera says his “no fun” diet are encouraging and hopefully will lead to a more season. Texiera said he lost 13 pounds of fat and added 15 pounds of muscle in the off season. Texiera says that “he felt like garbage,” all of last season. That is how I felt each and every time he stepped to the plate. He also said that you get beaten down and wonder if you are ever gonna be the same? That really instills confidence in me, Mark.
