All week, the Jets’ self-confidence has bubbled up to the surface. Rex Ryan has shown faith in his team and their ability to make a run. Mike DeVito has said a 6-2 stretch is realistic.

Now, in the tradition of Joe Namath and the Jets franchise, Antonio Cromartie has made a guarantee.

“The Jets will make the playoffs this year,” Cromartie told the NFL Network’s “NFL AM” this morning.

“We believe in each other, we believe in what coach (Rex) Ryan and his staff is putting us to schemes and stuff, so we definitely are going to make the playoffs this year.”

Cromartie has support from his coach, who endorsed his statements heartily.

“At 3-5 you’re not where you want to be but this team believes we can right the ship,” Ryan said. “We’re going for it. I know Cro had some comments, we’re going to make the playoffs. I feel as an entire football team we should feel like that and we do feel like that…Nobody wants to hear it but who cares.”

“We’re going to keep swinging till we’re out.”
Currently the 3-5 Jets sit two games behind 5-3 Pittsburgh and Indianapolis for the final wildcard spot, in 10th place in the AFC. The road to the playoffs begins Sunday when they start their second half with a trip to Seattle to play the Seahawks.

The Jets have signed LB Ricky Sapp from the practice squad to the active roster and S Antonio Allen to the practice squad.
AND THIS IS BASED ON WHAT…THE JETS TOTAL LACK OF PLAY AGAINST THE DOLPHINS…  I hope the Jets can relicate a lack of any points in at least the first quarter in Seattle.  EDB
