After Derek Jeter announced that he was going to retire following the 2014 MLB season, there is little doubt that the Baseball Hall of Fame immediately started creating a plaque for the New York Yankees shorstop. His career totals of 3,316 hits, 13 All-Star Game selections, five Silver Slugger awards, five Gold Glove awards and five World Series titles speak for itself, and the fact that he accomplished what he did for the most popular franchise in professional sports only furthers Jeter’s case. A spot as the first-ever unanimous selection for the Baseball Hall-of-Fame could be lurking, although a dissenting voter or two will likely be out there somewhere.
And while everything that Jeter has done on the baseball field has been incredible, the lineup of beautiful women he has dated makes him an icon in pop culture that few athletic achievements could. Although he was never involved in any off-field disputes, legal trouble or arguments with any individuals, there would be the occasional glimpses into the Yankees captain’s life as he has been spotted out with too many beautiful women to count.
